Epoxy product system

Epoxy paints

lakier

A WATER-BASED SYSTEM OF PROFESSIONAL EPOXY PRODUCTS FOR USE IN INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS.

It protects substrates against aggressive chemical environments and provides increased mechanical resistance.

The specific requirements for the use of construction products in industrial sectors result from high demands of the users and the much more difficult operating conditions of substrates. Many products that work well in general construction cannot perform in industrial environments. The EPIMAL two-component epoxy products are used for these applications. They are intended for coating surfaces particularly exposed to damage and contamination in public facilities (schools, offices, and railway stations), healthcare facilities, catering facilities, hotels, garages, corridors and staircases, and those frequently exposed to contact with aggressive chemicals (diluted acids, alkalis, salts, oils, greases, fuels, and solvents), e.g. floors in production and storage rooms, warehouses, and also the floors in food processing plants (breweries, distilleries, bakeries, dairies, butcheries, slaughterhouses, processing plants, and bottling plants).

EPOXY PRODUCTS

The unique properties of these epoxy products (as with other chemically cured products) stem from the way in which a durable coating is formed.

In addition to the usual drying process involving evaporation of solvents (chlorinated rubber, polyvinyl, and acrylic paints) or water, cross-linking of the material takes place. It is based on the fact that under appropriate conditions (therefore, the temperature of the substrate is important) a curing process takes place – the individual polymer chains form three-dimensional structures resembling a network (hence the name – crosslinking).

The cross-linked coating formed in this way is much more durable and resistant than coatings formed by simple drying. This applies to both mechanical and chemical properties.

EPOXY FLOORS

Two-component solvent-free epoxy compounds for interior flooring particularly exposed to mechanical, chemical and dirt damage. They are recommended for use in public facilities (schools and offices), healthcare facilities, catering facilities, hotels, indoor car garages, car washes, hallways and warehouses, production and storage rooms – also in the food processing industry (breweries, distilleries, bakeries, dairies, slaughterhouses, processing plants, and bottling plants). They can also be used in bathrooms, dwelling areas, shops, beauty salons, server rooms, or spas. A characteristic feature of epoxy floors is a perfectly level surface with no visible joints. In addition to high resistance to damage and abrasion, they display considerable chemical resistance to acids, greases, detergents and salt solutions. Other advantages include: easy cleaning with lasting results, short construction time, and an appealing appearance. The system consists of a primer with its hardener and the actual compound with a hardener. Before casing the floor compound, the substrate should be pretreated with the primer. The available compound colours include: light grey, medium grey, grey-beige, sand, oxide red.

The epoxy system includes paints, primers (undercoats), fillers, varnishes and floor compounds.

MIXING RATIO. CAN MORE HARDENER BE ADDED TO MAKE THE COATING HARDER?

No. The mixing ratio of the resin and the hardener is carefully specified. The use of the product with less or more hardener will always result in deterioration of performance.

SHELF LIFE. WHY THE SHELF LIFE OF EPOXY PRODUCTS REDUCED AFTER MIXING WITH THE HARDENER (E.G. UP TO 2 HOURS)?

Once the product is mixed with the hardener, the curing process begins. The cross-linked network begins to form. The application of the mixture after this time will result in a much poorer performance of the coating. Do not use such a product even though it will still remain liquid and apparently fit for use.
